Fabric 1: ¹/₄ yd
Unit A - Cut 1 strips 3¹/₂ inches wide. Subcut strips into 4 squares.
Cut 1 strips 3⁷/₈ inches wide. Subcut strips into 4 squares.

Fabric 2: ¹/₈ yd
Cut 1 strips 3⁷/₈ inches wide. Subcut strips into 4 squares.

Fabric 3: ¹/₈ yd
Cut 1 strips 3⁷/₈ inches wide. Subcut strips into 4 squares.

[top]Half square triangle units

Match 1 square of each fabric right sides together.
Draw a diagonal line from corner to corner on wrong side of lighter fabric.
Sew ¹/₄ inch seam on both side of diagonal line.
Cut units apart on drawn diagonal line.
Press seam to one side.
Makes 2 units.

Unit B - fabrics 1 & 2; make 4.
Unit C - fabrics 1 & 3; make 4.
Unit D - fabrics 2 & 3; make 4.

[top]Block instructions

Using 4 each of unit A, B, C, & D, sew block together as shown in layout with ¹/₄ inch seam allowance. Press seams to one side.

[top]Tip: Put desired fabrics right sides together and then cut squares. This way, square pairs will already be matched.
