Cut 1 strip 5 inches wide. Subcut strips into 4 squares. Also subcut into 4 template B triangles using cutting instructions below.

Cut 1 strip 31/2 inches wide. Subcut strip into 1 square.
Cut 1 strip 5 inches wide. Subcut strips into 8 template A triangles using cutting instructions below.

  • Add 1/4 inch seam allowance to all sides of both templates below.
  • Cut out templates including seam allowance.
  • To cut template B, alternate template on strip up and down aligning triangle base to strip edge and left side to previously cut edge.
  • To cut template A, fold strip in half end to end to cut mirror pieces.
  • Alternate template on strip up and down aligning triangle base to strip edge and left side to previously cut edge.
  • Triangle points will hang over strip width.

  • Mark actual top point on center triangle pieces and base point on side triangle pieces.
  • Sew left triangle to center triangle, right sides together using a 1/4 inch seam matching marked points; press to side triangle.
  • Sew right triangle to center triangle, right sides together using a 1/4 inch seam matching marked points; press to side triangle.

Make 4 units.
