Cut 1 strip 91/2 inches wide. Subcut into 2 corner squares.
Cut 1 strip 181/4 inches wide. Subcut into 1 side square.

  • Corner triangles: (half square triangle)
    Cut both squares in half diagonally for each corner.
  • Side triangles: (quarter square triangle)
    Cut each square in half diagonally. Without moving cut square, cut in half diagonally the other way.

  • For corner triangles, mark with a fold the middle of long side of triangle and corresponding block. Sew to block matching center folds using a 1/4 inch seam.
  • Align short edge of side triangles to block edge. Sew right sides together with 1/4 inch seam.
  • Triangles are likely to larger than needed as measurements are rounded to nearest 1/4 inch. Trim excess to include 1/4 inch seam allowance if desired.
