• Match 1 square of each fabric right sides together.
• Sew 2 parallel ¹/₄ inch seams.
• Cut half way (2¹/₂ inches) between seams; press seams to darker fabric.
• Place two patch units rights sides together, opposite fabrics matching together, and snugging previously sewn seams.
• Sew 2 parallel ¹/₄ inch seams crossing previously sewn seams.
• Cut half way (2¹/₂ inches) between seams; press seams to one side.
• Makes 2 four patch units per fabric pair.

Unit A - fabrics 1 & 2; make 4.

• Match 1 square of each fabric right sides together.
• Draw a diagonal line from corner to corner on wrong side of lighter fabric.
• Sew ¹/₄ inch seam on both sides of diagonal line.
• Cut units apart on drawn diagonal line.
• Press seam to one side.
• Units should measure 4¹/₂ inches including seam allowance.
• Makes 2 units per fabric pair.

Unit B - fabrics 1 & 3; make 4.

Sew block together as shown in layout using a ¹/₄ inch seam allowance. Press seams to one side.

Makes 1 block.
